In the last six months, 40% of customer inquiries for Posist were for Cloud Kitchen Management software

1st September 2021, New Delhi, India: As the industry prepares for a comeback after the second wave, restaurants are fundamentally re-imagining how they do business – digitally and through technology – to keep their operation running smoothly, improve their bottom line, and continue serving their customers.

As per the Posist Restaurant Industry & Market Evolution (PRIME) Report, 40 percent of Dine-in Restaurants in India started delivery services after the first wave of COVID-19. The established restaurant chains and QSRs are experimenting with hybrid business models that combine dine-in, delivery, and takeaway into one experience, thereby creating multiple revenue streams and reducing the burden on margins.

In International markets, Posist saw a similar trend as it expanded its customer base in four new regions in the last one year, including Columbia, UK, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Overall the company added 1,200 new restaurants to its customer base, now serving 9,000 restaurant outlets in 35 countries. Posist serves leading restaurant brands globally, including Carl’s Jr, Jamie’s Italian, Barbeque Nation, Taco Bell, Lite Bite Foods, and The Belgian Waffle Co.

Recently the company introduced several products to cater to the emerging trends in the restaurant industry. Posist is recognized among India’s top 10 software companies in the G2’s list of the Best India Sellers for 2021.

Digital Ordering for Contactless Dining Experience

Posist was one of the first movers to introduce an end-to-end digital ordering system to assist restaurateurs in minimizing physical interactions between patrons and the servers in a dine-in setup. The tech stack includes QR code ordering, a WiFi-based ordering system hosted on the restaurant’s network, and digital bill & payment receipts solutions to reduce physical contact at all possible touchpoints in a restaurant.

“QSR is a dynamic industry; brands need to adapt as per the market trends constantly. We wanted the Posist to remove some of the most common barriers restaurant staff face in streamlining the backend operations and making order management efficient, ultimately to delight our customers,”said Sumit Arora, CIO, Taco Bell India (Burman Hospitality). “We were always looking for a platform that was easy to maintain, easy to upgrade and didn’t get in the way of the guest experience. Posist offers a robust front and back-of-the-house solution with a track record of excellent customer service and support. We’re delighted to see how Posist has lived up to our ambition and growth.”

Unified App Marketplace Ecosystem to Bridge the Technology Gap

Posist also introduced its app marketplace for the restaurant industry. The Posist marketplace allows restaurants to quickly discover and install trusted third-party applications to make the front and back of house operations more efficient. The marketplace currently has over 150+ technology partners offering, Online-ordering platforms, Digital wallets, Cloud telephony software, Table reservation platforms, Loyalty programs, and Delivery integration with top online food aggregators globally. Through the Marketplace, Posist is working with the leading technology players in the industry such as Deliverect, Paytm, Zomato, Mymenu, Xeno, Thrive, among others.

“It has been a challenging year for restaurants. Like all industries, the restaurant industry needs to take control of the future, focusing on adapting strong business models supported by technology and innovation. COVID19 has leveled the industry landscape across the world, and we are excited to see that the Indian restaurant industry is getting ahead of the curve,” said Ashish Tulsian, co-founder and CEO, Posist. “With Posist, a cloud-based restaurant technology platform, our focus has always been to give restaurants robust yet easy-to-use tools in a single, simplified platform to run restaurant operations, so you can focus on making just great food.”
